BABYMETAL Backup Dancers
From SISTERBONES and the 2018 transition to the Avengers, METALVERSE’s early counterparts and ELEVENPLAY at LEGEND – METAL FORTH.
01
Supporting roles changed with each era
BABYMETAL has used dancers in several very different ways: anonymous theatrical ensembles, full-show supporting performers, rotating Avengers and one-song guest formations. They should not all be grouped together as official BABYMETAL members.
02
2012–2014 · SISTERBONES
Skeleton-costumed dancers appeared during early large-format shows, supporting performances such as “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!,” “Onedari Daisakusen” and “4 no Uta.” Their individual identities were not publicly presented as part of BABYMETAL’s lineup.

Supporting dancers accompany the birthday-era solo and subunit performances.
The ensemble returns for BLACK BABYMETAL and the theatrical finale.
The early SISTERBONES chapter reaches its final major appearances.

2018 · A year of changing formations
With YUIMETAL absent and later departing the group, BABYMETAL experimented with four-, seven- and three-performer arrangements. These dancers supported entire shows rather than appearing only for a theatrical segment.

2019–2021 · The Avengers
Three dancers were introduced as Avengers, with one generally selected to perform beside SU-METAL and MOAMETAL at each show. They did not sing and were not presented as permanent BABYMETAL members.
Riho Sayashi
First appeared at Yokohama Arena in June 2019; performed in Japan, the United States and Europe.
Kano Fujihira
First appeared on the second Yokohama Arena night; her BABYMETAL appearances were in Japan.
Momoko Okazaki
Joined the rotation in August 2019, returned in 2023 and became MOMOMETAL that April.

2021–2023 · Special formations and a new chapter
Special supporting dancers return for “Onedari Daisakusen” and “Akatsuki,” echoing the theatrical formations of the early era.
Momoko returns at BABYMETAL RETURNS. Miko Todaka, Kokona Kato and Sakia Kimura appear as younger counterparts during “Doki Doki ☆ Morning.”
The parallel-world concept is formally introduced under the METALVERSE name at SUMMER SONIC Tokyo. METALVERSE is a separate project, not a new group of BABYMETAL backup dancers.

2026 · ELEVENPLAY at LEGEND – METAL FORTH
Four ELEVENPLAY performers joined the ceremonial staging of “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! 15th Night Ver.” at Saitama Super Arena on January 10–11, 2026. They wore corsets, long battle jackets and masks while carrying candles around the stage walkway.
