BABYMETAL has been selected for Forbes JAPAN 30 UNDER 30 2026, the publication’s annual recognition of young people and groups helping shape the future of Japan and the wider world.
The group appears in the Entertainment & Sports section of the 2026 list. BABYMETAL’s official account announced the recognition on August 25 and directed fans to Forbes JAPAN’s dedicated 30 UNDER 30 website.
Part of Forbes JAPAN’s 2026 class
Forbes JAPAN describes its 30 UNDER 30 project as a search for people under the age of 30 who are already active on the global stage, have the potential to make an international impact or are challenging established ideas within their industries.
The 2026 edition marks the ninth year of the Japanese program and presents 30 honorees across several fields. BABYMETAL is recognized as a group rather than as three separate entries.
An interview with BABYMETAL is also listed in the Entertainment & Sports feature of the October 2026 issue of Forbes JAPAN, released on August 25.
A recognition that reflects BABYMETAL’s global journey
The selection arrives during another international chapter for SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and MOMOMETAL. Over more than 15 years, BABYMETAL has developed an identity that combines metal, pop, choreography and theatrical presentation while building an audience far beyond Japan.
The group’s recent era has included the release of METAL FORTH, major overseas performances, arena concerts and festival appearances in Japan and abroad. Their collaborations with artists from different musical backgrounds have also continued to expand the possibilities of the BABYMETAL sound.
For a Japanese metal dance unit that once entered a scene with no obvious precedent, inclusion in Forbes JAPAN’s list represents another notable form of recognition outside traditional music awards and charts.
