BABYMETAL and CUTIE STREET shared a playful meeting at LuckyFes’26, posing together for a group photo and recording a short video after appearing on the festival’s second day.
CUTIE STREET published the moment with the caption “Kawaii dake ja dame DEATH ka?”—a BABYMETAL-inspired variation on the group’s signature phrase and song title “Kawaii Dake ja Dame Desu ka?”
BABYMETAL meets CUTIE STREET at LuckyFes’26
The photo brought together SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and MOMOMETAL with CUTIE STREET’s eight members: Risa Furusawa, Aika Sano, Kana Itakura, Ayano Masuda, Emiru Kawamoto, Miyu Umeda, Nagisa Manabe and Haruka Sakuraba.
Both groups performed at Hitachi Seaside Park on Sunday, August 9. CUTIE STREET appeared on the Wing Stage at 3:35 p.m. JST, while BABYMETAL closed the Rainbow Stage program with a 7:30 p.m. performance.
A crossover between two sides of Japan’s festival scene
The brief exchange connected BABYMETAL’s heavy-music identity with CUTIE STREET’s colorful idol-pop style. The “DEATH” wordplay in CUTIE STREET’s caption made the collaboration immediately recognizable to fans of both groups.
